Dera DeRoche-Jolet is the co-founder, owner and chief financial officer of Alarm Monitoring Services, Inc. (AMS). With a business degree in accounting and over 40 years of hands-on effort, she has built AMS from a scratch operation into one of the industry's most recognized and respected monitoring facilities.
Throughout her career, Ms DeRoche-Jolet has also been a local, state and national leader in the security industry. She served as a national instructor for the Security Industry Association and contributed to the creation of the Central Station Operator Course.
In 1997, she helped write the False Alarm Ordinances enacted in the city of New Orleans. Since then she has worked with local officials throughout the state and region on drafting and enacting similar ordinances.
In 2007, she was appointed by the governor of Louisiana to serve on the state's Life Safety and Property Protection Advisory Board and has served several additional terms. She has been active in the Louisiana Life Safety and Security Association for over 30 years and currently serves as its President. Along with serving on and chairing countless industry panels, she has also represented the alarm and monitoring industry before the United States Congress.
