Blended Counseling Families: Collaborative Support for CBO Scholars from All Sides of the Desk

Patrick Wu is a Senior Educational Adviser for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, where he provides academic advising and access to educational opportunities to the Foundation's Young Scholars. The Foundation has awarded $190 million in scholarships to nearly 2,500 students from 8th grade through graduate school, along with comprehensive counseling and other support services. Prior to joining the Foundation, Patrick taught for six years in a rural middle school in Gaston, North Carolina and an urban high school in Chicago, Illinois. Patrick is the proudest member of the University of Maryland Class of 2006, where he earned his bachelor's degree in university-community partnerships, a self-designed major that focuses on bridging the gap between institutions of higher education and the communities which they are designed to serve.
