Case Studies and a Conversation with Students on Overcoming Hidden Barriers to College Success
3:00 PM - 4:15 PM Thu
Abel is a sophomore at Harvard College intending to study Sociology with a secondary in African-American Studies. His passion for policy initially stemmed from early on in high school, when he received the opportunity to work with mass incarceration policy through the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Ever since that transformative experience, he's been interested in shaping criminal justice and education policy and creating legislation that represents the interests of marginalized communities. Abel has continued his passion for policy at Harvard by serving as liaison for the Institute of Politics (IOP) Fellows Study Group, where he helps organize and facilitate conversations about politics with Political Strategist Aisha Moodie-Mills. He also serves as the Political Action Chair of the Black Men's Forum (BMF), where he's responsible for voter registrations, informing members about the political climate, and fostering connections between members and political organizations on campus.
