Michael Nixon is a highly experienced economist, ranked as a “Highly Regarded” Transfer Pricing practitioner by ITR World Transfer Pricing. He is currently working at the OECD, leading and making significant contributions to the design of Pillar One. He has also been involved in the OECD's transfer pricing work and certain aspects of Pillar Two.
Previously, he led the Singapore Transfer Pricing practice for Baker McKenzie, where he helped achieve a Tier 1 ranking for the practice within four years. In this capacity he also oversaw the regional Transfer Pricing practice in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and mainland China. He has extensive experience in transfer pricing planning and compliance, transfer pricing controversy, intellectual property valuations, and business restructuring.
Michael has worked with multinational clients across various industries, providing guidance on advanced rulings with governments, audit defense, and business restructuring projects. He has also held positions at Ernst & Young, PwC, and KPMG, where he worked on transfer pricing projects and gained expertise in economic analysis, thin capitalization, and tax knowledge.
Michael holds an MSc in Economics from the University of London and is a Chartered Tax Advisor in the UK. His key skills include transfer pricing controversy, planning, intellectual property valuation, economic analysis, client relationship management, people management, and tax policy.
