Background: Ichwan is the managing tax - partner within RSM Indonesia with 25 years experience. Ichwan has been providing tax advisory to a wide range of multi-national and domestic companies mostly in energy sectors.
Ichwan obtained his master’s Degree in International Tax Law, International Tax Centre, Leiden University, The Netherlands, and master’s Degree in Business Administration, Prasetiya Mulya Business School, Indonesia
He is a registered Tax Consultant, and also a licensed Advocaat issued by the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi), and a registered Tax Attorney at the Indonesian Tax Court.
Ichwan is currently assuming chair of International Fiscal Association (IFA) – Indonesia branch, and also Vice-chair of IFA Asia Pacific Region.
Experience: Ichwan is the engagement partner for leading international oil and gas, mining and other related energy clients in relation to tax advisory, restructuring, tax disputes and other strategic advice.
Ichwan led the global re-structuring project of some energy companies operation with the aim to achieve most efficient tax structure for dividend distribution, financing, operation, and also exit strategy. He lead some high profile M&As for an Indonesian energy companies in various region.
He regularly speaks around Indonesia and region on taxation of oil and gas, mining, investments, and other general tax issues. He is a regular contributor for taxation issues in some reputable magazine, newspaper, and other tax publication.
Prior to joining RSM Indonesia, Ichwan spent more than 18 years with big 4 tax firm as the head of energy sector and a tax partner
