Wei Hann has more than 20 years of experience in dealing with matters relating to indirect taxes in Asia Pacific. He started his career in the Singapore tax authorities where he was exposed to a wide area of work (i.e. from GST audits, developing new GST schemes and draft new legislations to GST investigations/prosecutions). He was also in various tax consultancy firms including accounting and law firms where he was responsible for providing large MNCs with sound tax technical advice. Lastly, Wei Hann held regional indirect tax positions in several large US MNCs where he was responsible for managing the regional indirect tax liabilities of the companies in the region. In his role, he was accountable for developing and pursuing strategies which reduce the companies’ overall VAT risk profile, improve cash flow, drive tax saving opportunities, ensure compliance with all relevant indirect tax laws and defend the companies against any tax controversies (with the relevant authorities).
