Dr. Le’Ann Solmonson is a Counselor Education Professor and has a private practice working with individuals and families, as well as providing supervision for LPC Associates. She was formerly a professor and program director at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Dr. Solmonson has a vast array of experience in the counseling field, including 16 years as a counselor educator, 14 years as a school counselor serving at both the elementary and secondary level, and has maintained a private practice for over 25 years. In addition, her clinical experience includes working as an administrator and intake and assessment specialist in several psychiatric hospitals and agencies.
Dr. Solmonson earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of North Texas, an M.A. in Professional Counseling from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Sam Houston State University. In addition, she is also certified as a School Principal and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Board Approved Supervisor.
Dr. Solmonson is very involved in several professional organizations at the national and state level. She is a past president of the Texas Counseling Association and Texas Counselors for Social Justice. In addition, she is the Past President of the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling. She also is on the Board Vice Chair of the Methodist Children’s Home and is a past president of the CASA of Deep East Texas Board of Directors. In addition, she has served in appointed positions for SBEC Advisory Boards and serves on the CACREP Standards Revision Committee for the 2024 Standards.
