The Food Safety Storytellers
11:00 AM - 11:45 AM Fri
Gennette Zimmer is a speaker, writer, data analyst, podcast host/producer, and artist who specializes in finding the story beneath the surface. Her career spans more than 35 years and a wide range of disciplines and industries, but the focus has remained remarkably consistent: understanding how people make meaning, navigate systems, and connect seemingly unrelated ideas. A former actress and stage manager, she learned early that every problem has both a human story and a structural one. That lesson has followed her through every chapter of her career.
Her formal training includes master's degrees in business administration and data analytics, but her real expertise lies in making sense of complexity, uncovering patterns, and helping others see what was there all along. That same instinct fuels her collage creations. With found images, text, and unexpected juxtapositions she creates inspirational artwork uncovering connections to remind people that meaning is often found in the pieces we might otherwise overlook.
Gennette is co-host and producer of Confessions of a Food Safety A**hole, where industry insight, skepticism, and humor share the same microphone. She's married to Darin Detwiler, giving her a front-row seat to the food safety community and life alongside one of its most passionate insiders.
