Abby Snyder, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in Food Science at Cornell University. She develops schema that make food safety data more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) for both humans and machines. Specific areas of focus have included data associated with environmental monitoring, hygiene status assessments, and sanitation. At Cornell, her lab focuses on the development of scientifically valid intervention strategies that improve food safety and microbial quality, including mitigating cross-contamination and enabling targeted recognition of microbial spoilage potential and persistence.
