Supply Chain Education in Sudan
3:45 PM - 4:45 PM Sun
My name is Sahar Abdalla Elfadil Ali Fait, I was born in Khartoum, Sudan on September 18th 1996. I completed primary school in Cote D' Ivoire then moved back to Sudan in 2002 and started off my high school degree at Unity High School. I enrolled in Ahfad university for women in late 2013 where I am currently attending the School Of Management Studies, specializing in the Supply Chain Management.
I took Fundamentals of Procurement and Supply Chain as my first course in this field and became passionate about it, later on when I started learning more, I felt more eager and found myself searching and reading about different sectors related to Supply Chain. This allowed me to gain insight into the field and make an informed decision about my future goals and aspirations.
Before choosing my specialization, I worked in different fields during my summer vacations to apply my theoretical knowledge in real life hands-on work. The purpose of this was to enhance and increase my practical knowledge in the differing scope of business administration. I was able to narrow down my areas of interest. Among the many experiences I had I learnt that after working in the Human Resources Department in MTN that it was just not for me. secondly, I was/is the Co-Organizer and logistics manager of the American public speaking forum TEDx. The license permitted us to organize the event under the name 'TEDxAhfadUniversity'. Organizing this event lead me to realize my field of interest was more of logistics and material management. I was also enrolled as a Change Agent (CA) of my university mission towards rural areas, as to develop and educate rural women as sustainable figures of the future. In November 2017 I went on a field trip to different rural areas in Sudan as a CA with the goal of bringing change. We educated and spread awareness in the basic areas of learning to lead a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. Being part of this activity has improved my perception of the reality of these vulnerable groups in my country.
