Paul F. Tucker is a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives serving the 7th Essex district, which includes Salem, Massachusetts. Tucker was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2014 following a 32-year career as a police officer. He retired as the Chief of Police for the City of Salem. Representative Tucker holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State University and a JD from Massachusetts School of Law. In addition to his legislative duties, Representative Tucker teaches courses in the Criminal Justice Department at Salem State University.
In 2018, Representative Tucker actively endorsed Question 3 in order to support a Massachusetts law that protects transgender rights. His endorsement included television ads, public presentations, and legislative advocacy. In addition, Representative Tucker has been a stalwart and consistent supporter of the LGBT Elders in an Ever Changing World Conference.
