Deborah is head of Nixon Peabody's Affordable Housing team, and Deputy Practice Group Leader of the Affordable Housing and Real Estate group. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing, the Board of Editors of Affordable Housing Finance magazine, and the board of the Housing Advisory Group in Washington D.C. Prior to joining the firm Deborah was Commissioner of Housing for the State of New York, heading up the Division of Housing and Community Renewal and sitting on the board of the NYS Housing Finance Agency, amongst other state housing agencies. Prior to serving at HCR Deborah was Director of Multifamily Housing for the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development for the New York City region. Deborah started her career working in the New York State Assembly, on the Program & Counsel staff on issues including housing, consumer affairs and agriculture.
