Brett is currently the VP for Multifamily Finance, at NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), overseeing the competitive Low-Income Housing Tax Credit financing path for affordable and supportive housing developments. Prior to that, Brett served as Director of Housing at NYS Office of Mental Health, and Assistant Director of the Bureau of Housing and Support Services at NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, overseeing the Homeless Housing and Assistance Program. He has been involved in the development and implementation of NYS Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative since its inception in 2016. His background prior to his over 22 years in State service is in land use planning and public assistance programs. He holds M.A. in public policy analysis, and a B.A in sociology.
