2C - The Sky Resilience Workshop - A powerful tool for OSI, PTSD and building resilience - Spencer Delisle, VP IAHV (SKY Resilience), and Dr. Abhimanyu Sud, Chief Scientific Officer, The Chronic Pain Center of Excellence for Veterans, President IAHV
2:45 PM - 3:45 PM Tue
The SKY Resilience Program is a customized evidence-based program of The International Association for Human Values (IAHV). IAHV is a Canadian Charity registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (871270757 RR 001), with an international reach and special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. SKY Resilience is a program for first responders, law enforcement officers, departmental staff, and their families that equips them with prevention strategies for operational stress, improved focus, mental health, and an enhancement of overall resilience. Research at institutes such as Harvard, Yale, and Stanford have demonstrated that SKY Breath Meditation (SKY) decreases anxiety, depression and stress, improves well being, positive emotions, mindfulness and social connection. Our breath-based meditation techniques address the roots of the extreme stress of first responder and police life including occupational and organizational stress, traumatic loss, chronic stress, occupational stress injury, and the ability to reintegrate with family and community when off-duty. In this presentation we will explore the impact of this powerful, interactive mind body program, examine key impacts in Canada and around the world, and provide an opportunity for conference attendees to experience SKY Resilience 4 day program for themselves.
