Dr. Snow was appointed Senior Managing Director of the Office of Research Commercialization in August 2016. In this role, he is responsible for intellectual property, licensing, and venture development activity across all Texas Tech campuses, which include Texas Tech University, Angelo State University, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, and the TTUHSC Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso. As a licensed patent agent, he continues as the Managing Director of Intellectual Property serving the Texas Tech University System, and is responsible for the assessment, protection, and management of the intellectual property portfolio. He also manages the Technology Review Team, IP Committee, and relations with external patent firms. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Snow launched a startup company that offers consultation and marketing support for biotechnology and clinical diagnostic providers developing research concepts into marketable products. Additionally, Dr. Snow has served in varying capacities in four other start-ups since 2008, two of which are businesses operating outside the technical space. In the past, he worked as a scientific liaison to healthcare practitioners for a privately held clinical laboratory start-up specializing in molecular diagnostics, as a research scientist for a CRO operating in the next generation genetic sequencing service space, and as a research scientist at the Institute for Environmental and Human Health (TIEHH) at Texas Tech University. His research in molecular pathology focused on the biofilm model of chronic disease, and the contribution of microbial load to disease states in human health, specifically in relation to atherosclerosis, and zoonotic diseases. Dr. Snow has very strong ties to the West Texas community, having received his B.A. in Biochemistry, M.S. in Electro-analytical Chemistry, and his Doctoral degree in Chemistry from Texas Tech.
