A long-time Lubbock resident, Russell Thomasson is the Vice President for Business Development at Lubbock National Bank, a family-owned bank with an impressive history of community involvement. Prior to joining the bank, Thomasson served as Chief of Staff for Jodey Arrington, who represented West Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. Thomasson graduated from Texas Tech, earned a law degree from the University of Texas, and in 2007 worked alongside then-Chancellor Kent Hance to lead research and strategic policy efforts for the Texas Tech University System. In that role, Thomasson helped create the National Institute for Renewable Energy (NIRE), a for-profit energy management and development start-up. He was also an essential member of the team capturing a $13 million investment for electric grid modernization (GLEAMM) for Texas Tech.
