Joanne M. Rodríguez Veve was born in San Juan on February 3, 1983. She studied at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Political Science (Summa Cum Laude), and then a Juris Doctor degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the Law School of the same institution. Subsequently, she obtained a Master's degree in Canon Law, from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Spain, and has studies leading to a Master's Degree in History of Puerto Rico, from the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. As a legal professional, she has worked as a canon lawyer in ecclesiastical processes of marriage annulment; In addition, she has worker in the field of Human Resources, specializing in labor management.
Since very young, and guided by respect for the dignity of the human person, she has publicly declared herself in favor of the right to life from conception to natural death; against the death penalty; in defense of freedom of conscience and religion as fundamental human rights; and in favor of the right to political self-determination of Puerto Rico.
