Raised in Puerto Rico Mr. McKenzie is an investment banker, investor and entrepreneur. Experienced in strategic consulting, and corporate financial advisory services.
Before Founding McKenzie & Associates, LLC in 2015, he worked from 2009 to 2015 with The Hertell Group, founded by former United States Ambassador Hans H. Hertell. During his tenure, he worked on several confidential mergers and acquisitions, capital raises and other financial transactions throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America for corporate conglomerates, publicly-listed companies, and middle-market private companies. At The Hertell Group, he worked on transactions valued at more than two billion dollars in diverse industries such as energy, infrastructure, media, healthcare, real estate, and hospitality.
In 2015, Mr. McKenzie founded McKenzie & Associates LLC, an investment bank and
corporate financial advisory firm providing services to public and private companies
throughout the Americas. Since its inception, the firm has completed more than $300 million in advisory transactions, over ten financial restructurings, over one hundred business valuations, and provided external Chief Financial Officer services to more than twenty companies. The firm has experience in various industries, such as energy, real estate, financial services, healthcare, technology, and hospitality. Since 2019, McKenzie & Associates has been active in several merchant banking transactions investing his firm’s capital and raising external equity positions for several lower middle market companies in Puerto Rico.
As of 2022, Mr. McKenzie’s firm, directly or through its equity investments, generates revenues of more than $20M annually and employs over 200 people in Puerto Rico.
Cameron holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science from Babson College. Professionally, he has eight financial certifications and five regulatory licenses from various regulatory and professional boards and commissions.
In 2021 he was elected President-Elect of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce for 2022 – 2023. He has served on its Board of Directors and in several committees, being Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Committee twice. He has received recognition from several financial industry associations. The National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts and the financial newspaper Caribbean Business selected him as one of their “40 under 40” youth leaders. In addition, he was named an “American Rising Dealmaker” by the Global Mergers and Acquisitions Network.
