Mason holds a B.A. in English from Texas State University, and earned his teaching certificate and Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Special Education, with a concentration in Adapted Curriculum, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mason has served as a classroom teacher across all grade bands, an elective teacher, and a hospital homebound teacher. He believes in an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and staff development and specializes in structured teaching, visual supports, and fostering student independence through predictable, intentional classroom design.
