Michael Saini, PhD, MSW, RSW, is a Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, where he holds the endowed Factor-Inwentash Chair in Law and Social Work. He is Co-Director of the combined JD/MSW Program with the Faculty of Law. For more than two decades, Dr. Saini has advanced scholarship, teaching, and practice at the intersection of family law and social work, specializing in high-conflict families, family violence, and parent-child contact problems (PCCP). He has authored over 200 publications, including books, book chapters, systematic reviews, government reports, and peer-reviewed articles. Internationally recognized, he presents regularly to audiences of judges, lawyers, mediators, evaluators, and mental health professionals. Dr. Saini has held leadership roles on several boards, including serving as Past President of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and as a member of Family Mediation Canada and the Canadian Coalition of the Rights of the Child. His contributions to the field were recognized in 2019 with AFCC’s Stanley Cohen Distinguished Research Award.
