Jonathan Felt is an experienced attorney and mediator dedicated to helping families navigate divorce, custody disputes, adoptions, and other family law matters. His background as a teacher and his love for children give him a unique perspective on children’s best interests and the impact of family legal issues on both parents and children. Jonathan has served as President of the Utah Bar Dispute Resolution Section (2021–2022), President of the Weber County Bar (2020), and a member of the Utah Bar Young Lawyers Committee (2015–2017). He has been recognized with numerous awards, including ABA National Top 40 Young Lawyer (2020–2021), Utah Bar Pro Bono Young Lawyer of the Year (2017), Utah Bar Leadership Academy (2018), Top Family Law Firm in Layton, Utah (2021), and the Clause Nobel Educator of Distinction Award (2010). Before founding Felt Family Law, Jonathan worked as General Counsel and Document Control Manager for UST in Layton, Utah. He graduated magna cum laude from Hamline Law (2014) with an emphasis in mediation and dispute resolution, and received advanced mediation training through Utah’s Domestic and Basic Mediation Courses, the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and the U.S. Department of Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute at Patrick AFB, Florida. He also competed nationally, finishing in the Top 10 at the ABA National Moot Mediation Representation Competition (2013). Jonathan began his career as a high school and middle school teacher in Florence, Oregon, and previously served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves (2002–2008). He holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Western Oregon University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Brigham Young University.
