The use of ferrets as an animal model in virology with a focus on virus transmission studies
2:00 PM - 2:50 PM Fri
Martin Linster obtained his Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands for work on immune evasion of Human Metapneumovirus. His PhD studies focused on genetic and antigenic evolution of pandemic H2N2 influenza A viruses as well as the generation and characterization of airborne highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza A viruses in the ferret model. He has moved to Duke-NUS, Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases in 2015 to work on molecular aspects of non-influenza respiratory viruses.
