Anthony Mercedes is a bilingual (English/Spanish) social work professional based in the Bronx, NY. He holds a Master of Arts in Health Education and Promotion and a Master of Social Work. He currently serves as a Senior Program Director in supportive housing, where he oversees programming, connects residents to resources, and works to strengthen the systems that bridge providers and the communities they serve. He is also the creator of Love in Healing and the SELF Initiative, reflecting his commitment to community-centered approaches to wellness and healing. His career spans housing stability, behavioral health, HIV prevention, and LGBTQ+ affirming care, with experience at organizations including Lantern Community Services, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, Samaritan Daytop Village, and the Latino Commission on AIDS. Across these roles, he has consistently worked at the intersection of public health and direct service, bringing a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to his work with underserved communities in New York City.
