Dr. Petit serves as the Executive Deputy Commissioner of Mental Hygiene, overseeing mental health services, substance use disorders, crisis services, and community-based care for all New Yorkers. As a board-certified Adult, Community, and Public psychiatrist, Dr. Petit has devoted his 30-year-career leading healthcare systems to improve and sustain access to needed supports, services, and treatments, and is an active voice in national policy and practice transformation. Dr. Petit earned his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires and completed his psychiatry internship and residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital School of Medicine.
