At just 19 years old, Jermaine Joseph has overcome challenges that many adults never face. After years of instability at home, he first came to River Haven, Hudson River Housing's emergency shelter and support program for youth experiencing homelessness, at age 15 seeking safety and support. With the help of Hudson River Housing, Jermaine found stability through supportive housing and now resides at Pat's Place, a supportive housing residence that helps young adults build independence while working toward their personal and educational goals. Today, he is thriving. He recently graduated from high school, enrolled in college, obtained the documents needed for employment, and is actively planning for his future. Supportive housing gave Jermaine the foundation to focus on his goals, and he continues to impress everyone with his determination, growth, and resilience.
