Jennifer Teich has been working in Person-Centered Practices for over 30 years. She began her career working in Speech Therapy designing customized communication systems for students who are deafblind. She went on to become a school administrator, where she focused on developing transition services in students’ home neighborhoods that were based on students’ strengths and interests. Ms. Teich has also worked as a consultant to Provider Agencies in New York City to provide technical assistance for Positive Behavioral Support, augmentative communication systems, and Person-Centered-Planning. She is currently the Associate Vice President for AHRC New York City’s Departments of Individualized Supports and Fiscal Intermediary where she supports people who are Self-Directing and/or creates Individualized Housing Opportunities. Ms. Teich is currently a member of the OPWDD Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council- Residential Committee, an OPWDD certified Support Broker, a NY Alliance certified Housing Navigator and a Faculty Trainer for the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP).
