Ed Dougherty launched dougherty.consulting to help bring innovative medical technologies to markets around the world.
For more than 25 years, Dougherty has worked with medtech manufacturers, from startups to Fortune 40s, to develop and implement agile strategies for regulatory approval and value-based reimbursement.
Dougherty served as contributing editor of an annual publication on global drug and device regulation. He has worked with entrepreneurs around the world to help them prepare to enter the U.S. market, often helping them transition from “software developers” to “medical device companies.”
Previously, Dougherty helped build the global medical technology practice at the world’s largest law firm. He led the health and life sciences practice of a Washington, D.C.-based consultancy, launched the patient registries and real world evidence group at a Fortune 40 health services company, and led the postmarket strategic consulting group at a global contract research organization.
Dougherty and his wife live in suburban Washington, D.C. where they are sheltering at home with a recent college graduate, her sister, a D-1 lacrosse goalie, and their four-legged office assistant.
