Dr. Laura Beth Cooper is a licensed psychologist, licensed professional counselor, and the owner of Connections Counseling & Psychological Services, where she specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. Her clinical work focuses on understanding childhood behavior through a developmental, relational, and trauma-informed lens, helping caregivers and professionals interpret emotional and behavioral challenges as adaptive responses rather than willful misconduct.
Dr. Cooper integrates evidence-based approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), child-centered play interventions, and parent-focused strategies to support emotional regulation, attachment, and skill development in children. In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively involved in professional leadership and public education, serving as Chair of the Public Education Committee for the Texas Psychological Association. Dr. Cooper is passionate about empowering families and communities with practical, stigma-reducing tools to understand childhood behavior better and promote healthy development.
