Dr. Le’Ann Solmonson is a Counselor Education Professor at Texas A&M Victoria and has a private practice working with individuals and families, as well as providing supervision for LPC Associates. Dr. Solmonson has a vast array of experience in the counseling field, including 20 years as a counselor educator, 14 years as a school counselor serving at both the elementary and secondary level, and has maintained a private practice for over 30 years. In addition, her clinical experience includes working as an administrator and intake and assessment specialist in several psychiatric hospitals and agencies. Dr. Solmonson earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of North Texas, an M.A. in Professional Counseling from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Sam Houston State University. She is also certified as a School Principal and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Board Approved Supervisor. Dr. Solmonson is very involved in several professional organizations at the national and state level. She is a past president of the Texas Counseling Association, Texas Counselors for Social Justice, and the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling. In addition, she has served in appointed positions for SBEC Advisory Boards and served on the CACREP Standards Revision Committee for the 2024 Standards.
