3B - Silence Is Not Neutral: Transforming Trauma and Institutional Betrayal into Institutional Courage
2:20 PM - 3:20 PM Wed
Morgan's experience with spiritual diversity in mental health began with her bachelor's thesis covering the impact of insecure attachment on spirituality in adulthood. Morgan studied social work at Baylor University, a program that intentionally explores spiritual diversity in mental health as one of its competencies. She also completed an internship at Baylor's student counseling center, engaging in spiritually-integrated care. Her Master's capstone explored the intersection of spirituality and severe mental illness. In her doctoral program, she has continued to study spiritual diversity in mental health through coursework, including a class on the impact of spirituality on social policy and another on spiritual diversity in social work. Morgan is also a doctoral candidate pursuing a PhD in social work.
