4C - Empowering Neurodiverse Learners: A Collaborative Model Between Counseling Interns and University of St. Thomas's Pragmatic Program
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM Wed
I am originally from Mexico City and I have always been passionate about helping others. I hold a BA degree in Psychology from Universidad Iberoamericana and I Amcompleting my Master’s in Counseling (LPC) at Houston Christian University.
For over 20 years, I have been working with different organizations that help the most vulnerable populations. Listening to the needs of these people, their life stories, trauma, etc. made me realize there was a huge need in this country for bilingual therapies. That’s what prompted me to pursue my master’s degree. I understand how can traumatic experiences can affect your overall health and how feeling accompanied and understood in the process is crucial for healing.
Currently I am working as an intern at A Healing Path Counseling, where I provide therapy to adults in both Spanish and English. I also lead a Parenting group.
