Welcome Session
1:30 PM - 2:00 PM Thu
Kamin Gock was proudly born and raised in Penrith, Western Sydney and is currently working as ABC’s State Political Reporter in the NSW newsroom. He has been awarded the national Andrew Olle Scholarship for 2023. At the ABC he’s covered Northern Rivers floods; a pandemic; the disappearance of William Tyrell; gangland violence and has broken several stories within the Victorian Health system and NSW Communities and Justice system. Previously he worked at Nine in Perth, Albury and Orange covering crime, health, bushfires, politics, and breaking news. Kamin became a journalist for two reasons: 1) He has a passion for storytelling that gives people a voice and holds authorities to account. 2) From a very young age he was told he talks too much and to put it to good use.
