TUF Mind: Wellness and Resiliency Training for Public Safety Professionals

Julie Rumrill holds a Doctor of Education degree with a research focus on the application of mindfulness in public safety professions. She is also a certified instructor of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an evidence-based, clinically supported, mind-body medicine program developed at UMASS Medical School. Her formal education was deepened through volunteer work and trainings in Indonesia, India, and Guatemala. She has over 20 years of experience with a variety of strategies and practices to optimize human potential, build resilience, manage stress, increase emotional intelligence, sharpen decision-making; and improve communication. Julie has curated and led wellness sessions and workshops for the U.S. Coast Guard Leadership Development Center, corporate businesses, NGOs, healthcare professionals, and numerous public safety organizations. In addition to private consulting, Julie has fifteen years of experience as a faculty member in at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut, where she incorporates contemplative practices as tools for proactive mental health.
