Tawny R. Acker, Executive Director of LKLP Community Action Council, Inc., has over 18 years of experience in working with transportation, both as a broker and a provider. LKLP is the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Broker for 32 counties across the Commonwealth. Before becoming Executive Director at LKLP, Ms. Acker worked as the Program Development Director where she secured over half a billion dollars in grants and launched numerous impactful programs, leveraging her expertise in compliance, transportation, and community development. A proud Eastern Kentucky native and resident, Ms. Acker completed her master’s degree and doctoral work at the University of Kentucky. She credits her late father, Dr. R. J. Acker, for inspiring her lifelong commitment to service. Outside of her professional achievements, Ms. Acker is a devoted mother and grandmother, with a daughter, Dorthea Acker Estep, and a grandson, Atlas Crue Estep.
