Joe graduated from Central Michigan University with a Biology degree and then went on to achieve Nursing degrees from Bay College and pursue an advanced degree from the University of Phoenix. Joe has worked in long-term care as an LPN before advancing to the ICU RN role at UPHSM. Joe, after years of bedside ICU care, went on to become the manager and finally the director of the ICU, before changing roles to the Chest Pain/STEMI Coordinator position at UPHSM. Since his role change UPHSM has achieved Silver, Gold, and Platinum NCDR Performance Awards while achieving and maintaining accreditations from The American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center and a PCI Cath Lab. UPHSM has also been recognized as a "High Performing hospital in Heart Attack Care" by the US News and World Report. Joe lives in Munising, Michigan with his wife and cat. He also has 3 married adult children.
