Jerry is Division Disaster Director in the Northeast Division of the American Red Cross. As DDD he is responsible for coordinating Red Cross interactions with Regional Disaster Officers, Federal, State and Local partners. Prior to becoming DDD, Jerry was the American Red Cross State Relations Disaster Liaison for New York State. Jerry worked directly at the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services working on disaster response.
In the past two years Jerry has deployed to Kentucky for both the tornadoes and flooding as well to Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico. In 2023 he was the AD of ER for the floods in Vermont. He has also deployed to Maui Hawaii and Lewiston ME in response to Mass Fatality Incidents work with the FBI and other partners to manage the Family Assistance Center.
Prior to Joining the American Red Cross, served as Executive Director and CEO of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs Jerry’s Emergency Service career spans both fire service and law enforcement. Jerry served with the Coeymans Police Department (CPD), retiring as an Investigator. He is a former 1st Assistant Chief of the Ravena Fire Department and is currently a Deputy Fire Coordinator for Albany County NY.
