John Spatafora is a damage prevention specialist in the public utility sector. He has 18+ years of experience working for the City of Columbia Electric distribution department. John serves as Chairman of the Missouri-811 Operations Meeting, is a Master Judge for the International Utility Locate Rodeo, & volunteers for the MCGA. Currently he is the Utility Locating Supervisor for the Utilities division at the City of Columbia, where he surrounds himself with a dedicated team of damage prevention professionals. Throughout his career he has partnered with many people/groups/organizations to establish new damage prevention techniques and attributes much of his success to his teamwork mentality. In the words of President Harry S. Truman “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit”. John holds a certificate from the National Utility Locating Association and is a 2 time MCGA Utility Locate Rodeo winner. In his time outside of work he operates a medium size row crop operation with his family in central Missouri and enjoys fishing and hunting.
