Eric Stevens, PhD, recently joined Hygiena as the Vertical Segment Manager - food. He brings more than 10 years of experience from US FDA in developing international food safety policy through participation in Codex Alimentarius as the Alternate Delegate for the United States in Food Hygiene and at the Commission. Additionally, he led successful partnerships with other countries, NGOs, trade associations, and academia on working towards creative solutions for managing environmental and facility monitoring to prevent pathogen contamination to reduce the burden of foodborne illnesses through the use of WGS. At Hygiena, he leads industry and regulatory engagement to ensure that diagnostic solutions meet industry needs, regulatory shifts, and the evolving demands of food safety, quality, and compliance from field to plate. Eric is passionate about food safety and in harnessing the power that data analysis can provide in actionable decision-making from tailoring the use of the best technology to the specific need and setting and in the right manner to safeguard both brand integrity and consumer health.
