Dr. Jennifer Marshall is an Associate Professor in the USF College of Public Health with 30 years of expertise in community-engaged practice and applied public health systems research and evaluation. She serves as the college’s Strategic Area Lead of Interdisciplinary Science & Practice and is Director of the NIOSH-funded Sunshine Education and Research Center for Occupational Safety, Health and Well-Being. Dr. Marshall teaches research and evaluation, child health and development, community health promotion, and community application of public health science. She also trains graduate students in an applied research lab on a variety of methods to work with local and state programs. For over a decade, Dr. Marshall has worked with the Florida Birth Defects Surveillance Program supporting the state registry (FBDR) and access to care for children with special needs and their families. She has worked with Florida MIECHV for 10 years. In 2023 Dr. Marshall received the University of South Florida Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award and the APHA MCH Section Effective Practice Award for her work to support access, quality and continuity of care for patients with perinatal opioid use.
