Guillermo Metz joined Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County in 2008, leading their green building and renewable energy program. From 2016 to 2024, he led the Energy & Climate Change Team at CCETC, and in late 2024 he moved to a new position there focused on helping farmers and other stakeholders navigate large-scale solar development, including opportunities to co-site solar with agriculture. He co-chairs the Cornell Cooperative Extension Community and Energy Program Work Team and works closely with Cornell University researchers and Extension educators across the state.
