Marcia Perez is a community advocate and change agent whose passion is serving communities impacted by the systemic inequities of K-12 education and the criminal justice system. Her passion comes from her lived experience and a strong desire for people of all communities to have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. As a proud Latina and first-generation college graduate, Marcia is motivated to inspire stakeholders to do the unimaginable when it comes to transforming systems. She is a demonstrated achiever with exceptional knowledge of public health and safety, violence prevention, policy development, racial equity and inclusion, trauma-informed practices, victim and survivor services and juvenile justice. Marcia strives to serve by building collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders and engaging community members who are most impacted by policy
outcomes. Marcia has been appointed to serve on several community committees to help elevate community voice and influence policy and organizational practice change. Marcia earned her Masters Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University and has a wealth of knowledge with complex systems. She has a lifetime commitment to community safety and to being bold about system change.
