Creating a Regional Access Services Leadership Community

Carl Piraneo is the Program Officer for Member Services and Resource Sharing for PALCI, the Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration & Innovation. PALCI is a regional nonprofit library consortium made up of 74 academic and research libraries in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Carl leads several PALCI communities of practice, with an emphasis on the organization’s member-facing services and its “EZBorrow” resource sharing program. Prior to joining PALCI, Carl worked for 15 years in several academic library Access Services departments, focusing on resource sharing, stacks management, and customer service. Carl received his MLIS from UNC Greensboro and holds a BA in History and Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill.
