Ron McMurtrie, P.Eng. is a consulting civil engineer with over 35 years experience in on-site sewerage and rural community infrastructure. This includes site and soil evaluations and feasibility studies, design and construction management, and operation and maintenance for a variety of residential, multi-family, small community and commercial projects. Ron’s areas of expertise include advanced treatment systems, liquid-only sewers, telemetry controls and remote monitoring systems and plant and soil-based treatment systems. Ron is co-author of the EGBC Professional Practice Guidelines – Onsite Sewerage Systems and has provided technical support and review for all three versions of the SPM. He is a founding and board member of COTRA (Canadian Onsite Technical Resource Association).
