The Pro's and Con's of Type 2 ATU Versus CTDS Systems
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Sat
Liesbeth Glotze has worked in British Columbia’s onsite wastewater industry for nearly 30 years, with a focus on planning and installing septic systems in rural and residential settings. Originally from the Cariboo and now based in Kamloops, she brings a practical, community-oriented perspective shaped by years of ranching, running an excavation company, and raising three sons.
Her professional background includes accounting, which has supported her work in project management and regulatory compliance. In 2004, Liesbeth became a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner (ROWP), and has continued to build her experience in system design and installation.
Throughout her career, Liesbeth has been supported by her husband, David Zacharias, whose steady involvement and encouragement have played an important role in their shared work. His partnership has helped make the challenges of fieldwork and business more manageable and rewarding.
Liesbeth served on the Board of Directors for the Western Canada Onsite Wastewater Management Association of British Columbia (WCOWMA-BC) for five years, contributing to practitioner support and industry development. Since 2022, she has also worked as a trainer for WCOWMA, helping new professionals gain practical skills and a better understanding of fieldwork realities.
Outside of her professional life, Liesbeth enjoys gardening and spending time with her chickens—activities that reflect her connection to the land and the lifestyle that has shaped her career. Her approach to work is steady, hands-on, and rooted in the values of service, sustainability, and family.
