Janet Price is the National Director of Admissions and Outreach for College Living Experience. Prior to holding this position, she spent 9 years as an educational advocate in the Washington, DC metro area. Janet has co-authored two books, Take Control of Asperger’s Syndrome, winner of the 2010 Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) Legacy Book Award, and Take Control of Dyslexia, as well as numerous articles. She has been a guest lecturer for graduate programs in special education and autism at Towson University and American University, and wrote the course content for an online graduate level class in special education advocacy. She has presented at national conferences on a variety of topics related to special education advocacy and transition. More importantly, Janet is also the mother of two young adults with special needs, both of whom have successfully navigated college, graduate school, and are employed in their chosen professions. As someone who has embarked upon this journey both personally and professionally, Janet likes to say that she has “been there, done that, and wrote the book!
