Reframing Failure
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Fri
Kati Strong is the Director of College Living Experience (CLE) in Austin, where she leads a team of committed professionals who partner with and provide support to neuro-diverse young adults striving to attain independence while pursuing their academic and vocational goals. Her professional experience includes 9 years with CLE and over 14 years working with individuals of all ages with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other neuro-diversities. As a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), Kati's clinical training and experience in Neurologic Music Therapy carry through into her work today, with a focus on evidence-based, goal-directed therapeutic interventions to help people achieve lasting, functional change. Fueled by her experience serving consumers in a variety of adult living environments including group homes, dayhab programs, state facilities and residential homes, Kati saw the ‘good, bad, and ugly’ of living options for adults with disabilities and developed a passion for encouraging and supporting all individuals to endeavor for their highest potential as independent, engaged, and active participants in their lives and communities.
