Mr. Michael C. Mehrman is a seasoned financial management executive with extensive experience across the U.S. Department of Defense. He retired as Deputy Director and Senior Advisor for Army Budget in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller), where he was responsible for overseeing the formulation, presentation, and execution of the Army's budget and ensuring effective stewardship of resources across the enterprise.
Previously, Mr. Mehrman was selected to serve as the first Chief Financial Officer for the Army National Guard. In this role, he led financial planning and execution of appropriated funds supporting payroll, readiness, and sustainment programs across 54 states, territories, and the District of Columbia. His leadership helped strengthen financial oversight and consistency across the National Guard enterprise.
Mr. Mehrman's career also includes senior financial leadership positions within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Financial Management and Comptroller) at the Pentagon, as well as assignments at several major commands. In addition, he served as Chief Financial Officer for the Wounded Warrior Care and Transition Policy Office within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, supporting critical programs for recovering service members and their families.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration from Western New England College. His executive education includes the Center for Creative Leadership, the Federal Executive Institute, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He currently serves as a Senior Financial Management Advisor and is a member of the Management Concepts Financial Management Advisory Board.
