Food Defense Strategies and Best Practices

Lehman Waisvisz earned a B.A in Biological Sciences at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale IL and a B.S. in Food Industry at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, Lehman has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Agricultural Biosecurity and Food Defense from Penn State University (2018). He has worked in the Food Industry for over 20 years first in the Edible Oil business and currently within the realm of Food Defense at ADM. Since October 2012, Lehman has performed hundreds of vulnerability assessments leveraging a tool that was developed by ADM, DHS/CSAC and SAIC [known as the Intentional Adulteration Assessment Tool (IAAT) ] and incorporated these findings in to FSMA IA Rule compliant Food Defense plans. Lehman continues to provide food defense subject matter expertise within ADM and externally with other food and beverage manufacturing partners in the Food Defense Consortium.
