As Chief Commercial Officer at Arena, Kelly Russell helps organizations transform workforce data into human potential. She has been central to Arena’s growth, evolving the platform from a hiring tool into a predictive intelligence solution used by employers to stabilize their workforces and drive economic mobility. Kelly partners with leadership teams to rethink their data strategy, using technology to bridge the gap between traditional resumes and true human potential. Her focus is on the power of AI + HI: using advanced tech to amplify human intelligence and opportunity. Kelly has spent her career at the intersection of people and technology, usually as an early-stage builder at companies that redefined their industries. She was Employee #16 at Care.com, where she launched the Biz Dev team and was the driving force behind getting Care@Work, the company’s employer benefit service, off the ground. Before that, she was Employee #26 at The Monster Board (which most of the world now knows as Monster.com), helping pioneer the very idea of online recruitment. She also held senior leadership roles at Bright Horizons, continuing her focus on solving complex labor challenges for massive organizations. Kelly actually started in the trenches as an HR and recruiting practitioner. That "on the ground" experience is exactly why she’s so obsessed with getting people decisions right. She’s driven by the belief that when the right person ends up in the right role, it’s not just a win for the company’s bottom line—it’s a win for that person’s life. Kelly lives just outside of Boston with her family. She often says that her two children, along with her journey with breast cancer, have been her greatest teachers in life, refining her perspective on human potential. When she isn't helping organizations navigate the future of work, she may be fundraising for breast cancer patient advocacy, on the sidelines of a football or softball field cheering on her kids, or hanging out with her dog, Penny (who, unlike the teenagers, doesn't talk back).
