Dr. Maurice “Scotty” Scott is a physician and native of Park Hill, Denver. He serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, and is an attending physician on the University of Colorado Hospital Palliative Care Consult Service. In addition, he directs the Master of Science in Palliative Care and Community-Based Hospice and Palliative Medicine programs. Dr. Scott also serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), overseeing UME DEI programming, including education, recruitment, and support for students in various School of Medicine programs such as MD, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Anesthesia Assistant. Born and raised in Park Hill, Denver, Dr. Scott completed his medical degree at UCLA, a family medicine residency, and a palliative care fellowship. Since 2014, he has served as a clinical provider and educator at CU. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights, spending time with family, and reading non-fiction and spiritual books.
